Fire Investigator

FIRESAFETY INSPECTOR I CERTIFICATION

To be certified as a Firesafety Inspector I in the State of Florida, an individual must successfully complete a minimum of 200 hours of basic certification training for Firesafety Inspectors, or have received equivalent training in another state, and pass a state written examination.

Five courses (40 hour minimum each) are required for certification.

  3. FIRE SERVICE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION
  4. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND PLANS REVIEW

FIRESAFETY INSPECTOR II CERTIFICATION

To be certified as a Firesafety Inspector II, an individual must be certified as a Firesafety Inspector I in the State of Florida, and must successfully complete 160 hours of certification training for Firesafety Inspector II, or have received equivalent training in another state.

Four 40-hour courses are required for certification. The courses are offered at the Florida State Fire College, Community and Junior Colleges throughout the state, and some of the Certified Training Centers.

  1. FFP2111 or ATPC2111 FIRE CHEMISTRY
  2. FFP2541 or ATPC2541 PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS II
  3. FFP2610 or ATPC2610 ORIGIN and CAUSE

And one of the following 40 hour courses

  1. FFP1793 or ATPC1793 FIRE and LIFE SAFETY EDUCATOR I (Introduction to Public Education)
  2. FFP2706 or ATPC2706 PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER
