Behind our EMS and Fire training programs is a team of dedicated administrators who ensure our curriculum meets the highest standards of excellence, relevance, and safety. Our Program Administrators oversee every aspect of curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, working closely with instructors, industry experts, and accreditation bodies to keep our programs current and effective. Their leadership guarantees that every student receives comprehensive, up-to-date education and training, preparing them to excel in the demanding and dynamic fields of emergency medical services and firefighting.
Phil Botting - EMT-Paramedic Program Director
Fire Inspector II (FF/PM) - Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department
After retiring from the Fort Myers Fire Department, Inspector Botting joined the Coral Springs–Parkland Fire Department (CSPFD) in 2020. A proud alumnus of the Coral Springs Fire Academy, Firefighter I & II Class 07-01, he began teaching at CSRIPS in 2014. His passion for education and leadership led him to serve as Program Director for the EMT-Paramedic program, while also co-leading the Night Paramedic class.
Inspector Botting was recognized as Instructor of the Year in 2017, a testament to his commitment and impact on EMS education. Since joining the Academy, he has played an integral role in advancing and refining our EMS programs.
Outside the classroom, Inspector Botting is an avid beekeeper. His attention to detail and appreciation for subtle changes carry over into his instructional approach—he understands that even the smallest shifts at the national or state level can significantly influence how CSRIPS operates and works to integrate changes for the improvement of the Paramedic program.
Spencer Ginn - EMT-Basic Program Administrator
Lieutenant - Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department
Lieutenant Spencer Ginn of the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department began his fire service career with Pembroke Pines Fire Department and brings over 8 years of instructional experience to the classroom. His favorite topics to teach are cardiology and patient assessment, where he emphasizes critical thinking, strong fundamentals, and real-world application. A Field Training Officer for CSPFD and a first-generation firefighter, Lt. Ginn is passionate about mentoring new personnel and setting high standards for performance and care. He currently leads our Day EMT-Basic class and oversees the prerequisite Entrance Physical Ability Test (EPAT), and it's prep class: Practice Physical Assessment Training.
Outside of the firehouse and Academy, he’s a competitive bodybuilder and a proud “girl-dad” to his daughter—titles he holds with as much pride as his badge.
